In my late teens and early twenties, I suffered with crippling anxiety and depression, to the point of medication and eventually hospitalisation.
It was horrendous at the time, but with hindsight, it set me on an incredible healing journey.
My main aim in life became happiness and health, of mind, body, and spirit.
The path was challenging and long, decades long.
There were many, many pitfalls.
In my forties, I lost my way again and burnt out.
It was horrible.
It made me even more determined to never go there again, and to help other people avoid the same thing.
I read everything.
I studied everything.
I tried everything.
I asked questions.
And each step of the way, I learnt more and more about what true health and happiness was - for me.
And I say ‘for me’ because each of us is different and unique.
What works for me might not work for you.
But try stuff at least.
See what works for you.
Apathy will eventually harm you.
Waiting for something to change, or someone to come and save you, is a dangerous game to play.
If you know that you don’t feel right on some level, whether that be mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually - the only one who can make a difference is you.
And to make a difference you have to make different choices, and then be consistent - show up each day and make that difference count.
I’m going to share with you what I do each day.
This routine as far as I am concerned is the reason why I am the healthiest and happiest I have ever been in my life.
There’s decades of learning distilled into this daily routine - take what you want from it, try it out and see how it works for you.
So…
The first thing I do when I wake up is 5-10 minutes of meditation. I usually do this lying in bed.
I then go downstairs and do a Lymph Node massage which takes about 5 minutes but is so essential for helping the body to rid itself of toxins.
Following that, I do the Five Tibetan Rites. I have done these for 1400+ days consecutively without fail and it’s amazing.
It’s really worth reading more about them if you can.

I then start my day with half a pint of water, often with lemon in it.
Then, I take my vitamin supplements. These are my secret weapon. I call them my ‘magic beans’. I’ve taken these for almost 4 years and I would honestly go as far as to say these little things changed my health and my life and if I only could ever do just one thing for my health, I would choose these. They are just fruits, vegetables, and berries in a vegan capsule. They contain everything your body needs and that we simply cannot achieve through the food chain these days as the fruits, vegetables, and berries we buy are depleted of their nutritional value through modern production and farming.
My wife is a GP and she is a huge advocate of these capsules to help people get their health back on track.

On top of that I take these Sea Moss capsules which provides me with the extra stuff that the body needs to function effectively, including iodine, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, which is also missing from the nutrients we get from our food these days.
I take the purple ones but there are loads of varieties.

I exercise 3 or 4 times a week too. Usually, a long dog walk once or twice a week, a half hour cross trainer or cycle session in the gym, and a weights session once a week.
The thing is to just keep moving.
Get out in the park and get some fresh air, disconnect from the busyness, and connect with nature.
Walk during your lunch break.
Park further away from the office.
Anything will do, but try and move each and every day.
Again, this is down to individual choice and preference, but I try to move and get my heart going as often as I possibly can.
I eat predominantly vegetarian, and eat three meals a day, generally snacking on nuts and fruits. I love food and enjoy it. There’s no deprivation or calorie counting, just an awareness of putting good stuff in my body as often as I can.
I’m happy to share more details about anything here if you want. Please just message me and I’ll be happy to go into more detail with you.
With love and health.
Rik
