Hey,
I’m on a creative mission to create a piece of art for every one of the 81 verses of the Tao Te Ching. This one above is Verse 1.
I’ve read several translations of the Tao Te Ching but my all time favourite is the one by Stephen Mitchell, and in particular his illustrated version. Interestingly, he’s married to Byron Katie, whose work on helping people release emotional trauma is amazing.
Here are 5 things I thought were worth sharing this week:
My book is finally out! It shares the true story and journey I went on when I inadvertently stumbled into the life of 90-year-old Holocaust survivor Sam Gontarz. It’s a powerful and beautiful story and it has a poignant message that the world needs to hear more than ever right now. I’m extremely proud of this book and I would be delighted if you would buy a copy and share the link to the book with all your peeps.
I’ve been listening to a lot of raga music recently, after learning that the sitar is naturally tuned to a high frequency and vibration. There’s something so simple and beautiful about raga music, it transports me to another time and place. A simpler and freer time. There’s a great documentary about Ravi Shankar, who is the man most credited for bringing raga music to the West.
I watched this fascinating piece on how Casey Neistat makes his films. Casey is possibly one of my favourite YouTubers and I’ve followed him since the very beginning of his career. His attitude to life is so unique and I massively respect his values in chasing his art over money.
My good friend Lucy Davis has posted her June energy update. Her monthly features are so good and she’s usually spot on in what she shares. Last year, I helped Lucy to write her book - an incredibly powerful story of her transformation from corporate burnout to spiritual warrior. You can find out more about her book here. She runs some phenomenal programmes too which can help you to change your life in the most positive ways.
I wrote a blog this week with the same title as this newsletter, Think With Your Heart, Feel With Your Mind. It describes how I tend to deal with negative thoughts and feelings as and when they arise.
Thanks for reading!
My new book, B7965 - A boy called Szmulek: A man named Sam, is out NOW!. It’s a powerful memoir of my unexpected year-long journey with a Holocaust survivor. I’m super proud of it and very passionate about sharing Sam’s incredible story and getting it out into the world.
Also, if you like great music, please check out my radio station, The Buzz Mcr. We don’t do ad-breaks, news, weather, and travel. The music never stops. We have a thing called our Three Song Trust Policy, it’s like the old Pepsi challenge only with music. Try us, I think you’ll like us.
With love
